Contract Management

The CONTRACT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE is a 6 course (24-unit) program designed for new and experienced contract managers in government, public, and private sectors.

Learn the skills to advance your career in contract management in this newly-designed, six-course, Contract Management Certificate. The four required courses address both Commercial and Government topics. In addition, students choose 2 electives based on their interest in either Commercial or Government contracts.

Our highly-experienced instructors share their in-depth experience and expert advice in contract law, negotiation techniques, international business contracting; bidding; financial management; and technology contracting.

This program is offered in cooperation with the Los Angeles-South Bay Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). Many of the courses satisfy professional continuing education requirements for NCMA and Institute for Supply Management (ISM) certifications.

This certificate is available in online format only.

Government Cost Estimating and Pricing

The GOVERNMENT COST ESTIMATING AND PRICING CERTIFICATE is a 6 course (24-unit) program designed for personnel who are involved in the estimating, preparation, and/or evaluation of cost proposals, including estimators, project managers, pricers, business managers, price analysts, auditors, and cost analysts. The courses cover all aspects of the cost proposal and evaluation cycles, and many satisfy professional continuing education requirements for National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and Institute for Supply Management (ISM) certifications.

Information Technology Management

Effective information technology (IT) management is a critical factor for organizations to reduce cost, increase profit, expand into new markets, and gain a competitive edge.

The INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE is a 8 course (32-unit) program intended to help IT professionals and managers more effectively manage their resources, implement new technologies, and efficiently use existing technology to maximize their IT investments.

Project Management

The PROJECT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE is a 6 course (24-unit) program. It provides grounding in key aspects of PMI’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide–5th Edition) for those preparing to take the Project Management Professional Exam and achieve the internationally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification. It is suitable for professionals in all industries and government services, including banking, construction, defense, entertainment, health, information technology, etc., and may be completed with public, online, and/or on-site courses.

Courses are offered at satellite locations ideal for those living or working in Downtown Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, and South Bay.

Master of Science in Project Management at University of Wisconsin – Platteville and UCLA Extension PM Certificate –

In accordance with a transfer agreement between UCLA Extension and the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, completion of the Project Management Certificate equates to 12 graduate credits that may be applied toward the UW–Platteville online Master of Science in Project Management. Project Management Professional Exam (PMP) Preparation

Considered the leading professional association for project managers, the Project Management Institute (PMI) administers a globally recognized and respected certification program. The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is the profession’s most universally recognized and respected credential. To be eligible for PMP certification, you must first meet specific requirements of experience and education and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. The final step in becoming a PMP is passing a rigorous computer-based examination designed to objectively assess and measure your project management knowledge. This COURSE helps participants prepare for taking the PMP examination by providing a concentrated structured review of the key areas of knowledge required to be successful.

Supply Chain Management

The SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE is a 8 course (32-unit) program that offers the precise tools and practical knowledge to help you manage all aspects of supply chain management, including purchasing, logistics, inventory management, compliance, and outsourcing.

The program is offered in cooperation with the Los Angeles Chapter of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM-LA) and California Association of Public Purchasing Officers (CAPPO). All courses may be used as continuing education hours to maintain all ISM certifications and help prepare you for ISM exams.

Master of Science in Integrated Supply Chain Management at University of Wisconsin – Platteville and UCLA Extension SCM Certificate –
